The Problem & Solution
The challenge was managing multiple audio inputs during technical demos. Capturing system audio (the demo itself) and the presenter's voice (the microphone) often resulted in a hollow, echoey recording. This deep dive explains the process and design choices. Instead of relying on complex post-production editing, the solution was a zero-cost, zero-editing fix utilizing the native Windows Stereo Mix feature. This concise training video demonstrates core competencies in Instructional Design (Problem/Solution framing), Technical Communication (translating complex routing into 4 steps), and Production & Asset Management (delivering professional video with a structured naming protocol)
Strategic Narrative: Professional Focus with a Creative Hook
The LinkedIn thumbnail design adheres to a Professional Focus, elevated by a Creative Narrative Hook. The core content addresses a serious technical problem (audio distortion), satisfying professional requirements. However, by framing it as a 'Mike Clarity Case Study,' we leverage a detective theme to increase engagement and recall in a scrolling professional feed. This dual approach ensures the content is both credible and captivating, highlighting skills in both content creation and marketing strategy.
Audience-Specific Design: The two thumbnail designs below illustrate how the project was packaged for different distribution channels. The LinkedIn visual prioritized the professional theme, while the YouTube visual uses higher contrast and a stronger callout to maximize click-through rates on a public platform, demonstrating an understanding of platform-specific marketing.
